- You have already located right discussion (also many other such discussions exist with same comments). The same is applicable to trigger Maint. Order in place of Notification.
- Now let's discuss your main query: i.e., Inspection point OR Measuring point. The answer is clearly Measuring points . The reason clearly being it is (M/Pt) meant for the same application. And the eixt IMRC0001 has been provide to trigger such Notification / Order in case the reading goes out of range.
- The inspection point route is entirely different, You need to enter into Quality module, generate an inspection lot, make UD and then as per the UD reject you need to trigger a Notification or Order which no one would have tried to explore so far. No known means are also there. We can explore this through enhancements provided in the area of Usage decision, but it is totally irrelevant.
So the answer is Measuring point for a Condition based maintenance or its alerts not Inspection points. Hope I've touched upon all your points of query.
