Help with a bar chart design - can't get grouping to work

Hello!  I am trying (with no success) to create a bar chart that will show 24 months of history in sales.  Firstly I am using CR 2013 SP5.  My datasource is a SQL database and the data set is nothing more than a date and a dollar mount grouped and summarized by month and year.  What I want to show in my bar chart is the SINGLE month with side-by-side bars of the current year and previous year for comparison purposes.  I cannot figure out how to do this!!  Can someone help?  Here is a sample of what I am trying to display.
