Using travel management while payroll area is locked

Hi gurus,

In my current organization, we are using different modules of SAP including SAP HCM. We do process payroll in SAP too. Now we are planning for travel management. And our concern is can we use travel management (travel request, travel plan, expense as well as posting run) while payroll area is locked for payroll processing?
